Safe Skin means Natural & Organic

Our skin is one of the most beautiful thing God has impart us with, it covers us, protects us and its a manifestation of how distinctively we are created by Him. Clearly we have all the reason to pamper it, look after it and make sure that it's healthy. One way keeping our skin healthy is eating the right foods, foods that are rich in vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E, healthy fats and beta-carotene such as berries, carrots, avocados, whole grains, even sunflower seeds. Another ways are drinking plenty of fluids; having a good rest keeps the natural glow of the skin, as cell regeneration is at it's peak while we sleep and of course basic skin care, keeping it clean and choosing the right skin products for our different skin types.

So how do we know which is right for us? As for me, I go with  products with natural and organic ingredients. Products that have no harmful chemical,so as to keep the skin healthy, safe and minimizes the risk of any skin diseases.  With the summer heat, it gives us an extra burden to take care of our skin. What a better way to pamper it with value for money, natural and organic skin products. PhilOrganic products gives you that kind of benefits. I have personally tried some of their items and I'm very much satistied with it.

With this kind of heat, it's a challenge to keep our skin moisturize without getting that greasy feeling, but it's not a problem with their Day Moisturizer.

It's something one should include in a "must have" list. Whatever skin type you have it's important to keep it moisturize, moisturizers are designed to reduce the water loss in the skin's epidermis and acts like a wall between the skin and other particles that might irritate the skin. A good thing in this product is that is DOES NOT contain parabens. According to an article I have read, parabens are ingredients that acts like a preservative for products to have longer shelf life, but study shows that they may cause allergic reactions and skin rashes, may interfere with the body's endorcrine system and may cause cancer. It's an ingredient to watch out for in skin products. I say that their Day Moisturizer is really a "must try" product.Want to pamper your skin while you sleep? Try their Night Moisturizer and see the difference when you wake up. They also have organic facial cleanser and toner, so it's all in the house.

Another of their product that I find so amazing not to mention practical is their Nourishing Shampoo and Body Wash in one. For someone like me who likes to travel its something to have in the bag. It lightens the load since it's two in one. It's smooth on the hair and on the skin, and no parabens. =)
Best of all PhilOrganic products have reasonable prices, you can avail an item for as low as Php. 69.75. So who says  pampering your skin means spending a lot?

Rights, Room, Roam

While everyone is busy knowing the updates of our country's national election, I sit here today contemplating on my experience on yesterday's election. I recall waking up at 6:00am, fixed my self, and headed to the school where I'm to vote, excited to vote for the first time. They say that it's better to be there early to avoid crowding into a longer line. With my companions, we arrived at arround 6:45 in the morning, much to my surprise, people are strating to crowd in. I thought maybe they are also excited to participate in the country's very first automated election. And I guess I was right. I hurriedly looked for my name to find what precinct I should be, but it was hopeless as I found out that the precinct number in my registration slip given by COMELEC doesn't exist. They have change the system merging several precinct before, into one new precinct. There were many rooms and worst each room posted several list of names, it was imposible to find my name in a minute, I was in a race of time in order to get a priority number on whichever precinct I belong. Yes, one new feature of the system in the sequence number (priority number) which voters must get. Thanks to an action center outside the school, they entertain confuse voters such as I, so they gave me my precinct number.
My precinct number on the top and my priorty number, 25.
When the clock strikes 7, people are still wandering around the school confused, well most of them. Waiting outside the precinct, I asked one of the watchers there, "When will we start lining up?". He said that the people incharge are still setting up the PCOS machine (the machine which will automatically record our vote). To make the long story short we waited for about 15 minutes before the first voter entered the room, and I waited for more than an hour for my turn. I was done by 8:20 I guess. When I went outside the room, people are really starting to get impatient, some decided to just go home and not vote. The system is new to all of us, and after all the country has been through just to have this automated election, people are hurriedly given up their rights just because they are too tired to line up? COMELEC may be too focused on the PCOS machine and on the rules on handling the voter's ballot that they might have not taken tight consideration on the system on crowd control and process flow, but it's everybody's first time, we should have at least understand each other, instead of complaining. Well, we can't bring it back, it's done. I feel sorry for those who just went home and given up, they failed to experience the joy of seeing the word CONGRATULATIONS on the PCOS machine after casting a ballot and most of all they miss their chance that might change the condition of our country, it was a wasted opportunity to them, an oppurtunity wanted by those who badly want to vote but can't. And I feel very proud to those who really stood there, waiting patiently even for several hours to have their votes casted and most especially to the election officers incharge in their respective precincts, for keeping on despite all the complains they are receiving and for staying up late in order to protect and transmit the votes of the people. I feel very thankful to God we had a peaceful election atleast here in Cebu.
Leaving the school after I have voted, I feel so fulfilled. I made a voice, even if it's small it represent my love for my country.

But roaming around the City after I and my companions have voted made me quite sad. I never thought that politics can be this dirty.
Dirty in this sense. Papers all over the streets, plastics, food wrappers and trash of any sorts are dominant sights on streets on voting areas. Here's some more:
Parking spaces carpeted by files of sample ballots.Yesterday's election really took it's blow not only on the voters, the election officers but as well as on our street cleaners.

God only knows what lies ahead, whatever the result of yesterday's national election I pray that the Filipinos will have an accepting heart, an understanding mind, and a cooperating hands for the progress and betterment of our country. And for those who will be elected I pray that they will value the trust of the people who elected them, run their office with dignity and honesty, hold their position with the common good of the Filipinos in mind and not of their own, and exercise their powers for a fair, transparent, just, and genuine public servicing government. I direct my prayer toward God and God alone, for I know with Him nothing is impossible.

It's better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. Psalms 118:8-9

Street Gastronomy

I just had my first Tuslob Buwa today!

My fiance and some of our friends just decided to eat tuslob buwa, I don't even know if I spelled it right. Well, anyway it's a street food, I'm not sure if it is that common here in Cebu. But for that area where we went to have this experience it was a familiar and ordinary thing, Pasil is the place. Yeah.. it was an amazing sight for it was also my first time to really go deep into the place. Lots of little stalls on the streets selling various foods, there's banana-ques, sandwiches stand where you get to choose what kind of spread you want, food carts where puso is a recognizable sight and of course street foods- tempura, saang, fish balls, balot and all, trycicles, and kids playing and running on the street. The place is a busy street where orinary life and social economics is in sync.

Going back to what ate, so what is tuslob buwa? They say, I'm not really sure if it's right.... I'm kinda afraid to ask what really makes out of it because I may not eat it, so I settled to what I first heard.... it's a dish made out of a pig's brain and liver. The dish is eaten with puso, (hanging rice). The fun side of eating tuslob buwa is that, you have to wait for the dish to boil and when it starts to bubble you scoop it out with the puso and on to your mouth. So it's eating straight from the cooking pan. You have to be careful not to burn your finger nor your tongue. :)

My very first scoop.

Looking at the picture you might ask if it's safe. Well, its a street food what can you expect, there are no fancy stalls in this place and its a normal food for the people in the area. It's a risk we took. The food actually tastes good. My companions even had a really good time eating. It's a try for those who are not so hygenically concern, because sometimes you have to eat the dish with other people (strangers for that fact) scooping with you. In our case, we requested if we could have it exclusively for us and the vendor was kind enough to let us. If you are a go to this kind of experience that's a tip so as for you not to have a grumbling stomach when you get home. But if you have a delicate tummy I don't recommend you doing this, burgers will be much safer.

Thought for the Day

"Those who fail to pray because they do no feel close to God may not feel close to God because they fail to pray."

Prayer is and will always be an essential part of my life. Imagine that telephone can we used in school experiment in elementary? It is like that thread that connects the two can. As long as the thread bonds the two cans, then the person in the other end will surely heard the other.

Two things happen when we pray, it's either things change, or God changes us. It's not all about asking. Some people thinks that prayer is just asking. Prayer is talking. Prayer is communing. Prayer is fellowship.

Detailed to Perfection

One of the reasons people (most especially the women) are so excited to attend weddings are the gowns and dresses. I was so amazed on how the gowns used in my sister’s wedding turned out to be. It was indeed a collection that is detailed to perfection. I deeply commend Erik Cabales for creating such lovely master pieces. What a talent you’ve got there!

The bead work was so detailed and clean. And the hand paint? What can I say, very inspired and artistic. Considering the outlay, it goes beyond what I expected.

Even the customized cord and veil looked very chic yet simple. It’s like conventional and contemporary meeting half way.

This flower girl's dress was hand painted, accented by beads over the paintings. Very cute to look at.

If you like to see more of Erik Cabales' work you can check his blog at http://viajerro.blogspot.com/

Happy Day

My sister's wedding finally came to pass. It was indeed a memorable and special event for our family. The wedding of course would not come as it was without the preparation and a constant updates of checklists. From the concept to the tiniest details, were products of endless brain storming and prototyping. I am so proud of my sister really putting 100% hands-on job in the preparation of her wedding. I thank God for the support each family has given to make the wedding a trully blessed and merry one.

A wedding brings two families together, it strengthen the bond that ties family and friendship. It is such a happy episode of our lives, one that sank deep into our hearts and will never be erased by time. For this special people who made this time possible we express our greatest gratitude. And to God who has woven destiny to be so, our praises and thanks.

To the people who graced the event, especially those who have traveled from different places just to be with us, we are truly blessed to celebrate the occasion with you, we could never thank you enough.

Reading through what I have written sounds like I was the one who got married.. hehehehe :)
Well anyway I am just happy.

A bunch of thanks to all who took part and to everyone who were there.

Earn Extra by Just Viewing Ads

Want to earn extra during your spare time. Here's one of the sites I found where you can actually earn by just viewing ads. All you have to do is register with them for free, login to your account and you can then start earning by browsing ads. If you are interested just click on this link  http://www.clixsense.com/?3117901
and it will lead you to the site I am talking of.

Here's how it work.
1. After logging in, click on Browse Ad.
2. You will be provided with a list of link  in the list of ads.
3.Click on the ad link and another window will open.
4. Wait for the timer to be over.
There's a timer on that window, the duration of which, will be how long you will have to wait before closing the window. The timer is just usually set to 10-30 seconds, so you really don't have to wait that long.
 5. When time is up, you can then close the window and click on another ad. Just that simple.

According to a review I have read about the site, the site is actually relaible and honest. There are plenty of sites offering the same kind of earning oppurtunities and several of them are scams. Well, I might give this one a try. Earning oppurtunities like this are really not to be considered as "jobs", as the term used suggest, they are merely occasions to earn extra. But being industrious and committed in engaging in activities and opputunities like this, it's pretty sure that that extra will really be extra.

Bring the Rain

Only days to count before the most awaited Youth Congress, and the groups are still finding themselves in an endless tasks of preparation. Give-aways, committees, presentations and a bunch full of work that needs to be attended are lining up racing with time in each passing day. Not only are we faced with numerous "to do's", finances are one of the most challenging part each group is facing. With much prayers and faith we are trying our best to pull out resources for us not to be beaten with time.

Everyday is a challenge, a blessing and for some a struggle. There are days where people seems to be in a "fast-forward" mode, some people fill the workplace with high intensity voices, others are just so busy working and too tired to talk and still there are some that could really do several things at a time, working, talking, and eating at the same time. Busy and stressed out we may be, we are never too tired to laugh. Having people around, helping (though some are just talking.. hehehe), laughing and joking around is as easy as breathing. At least we forget about some other things for just that little while and just laugh ourselves out.

Squeezing this blessed time to our tight schedule in life is worth it. Well, for some it is like squeezing and for others it is prime. Some people don't have this kind of oppurtunity to serve the Lord and have fun at the same time. Though the pressure factor is kind of kicking the fun side of it, but nobody is taking away from you, your choice of having fun while beating the pressure and time. I'm really praying we could claim what we always say, "the joy of the Lord is my strength", as we face more days of pressure and challenges. Durig these time our charaters are tested. There are so much flow of emotions as we are getting closer to the big day. We are challenge on every side, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. But as a song tells, "if that what it takes to praise You, Jesus bring the rain!", then bring on the rain.

The best is yet to come, GO KAYA TEAM!

Clicks for the Hungry

I love to eat, I really do. And I thank God I'm blessed to be raised in a family of which food is not a problem. Many of us do, but it's sad to say still many of the children in different parts of the world don't. Hunger has always been a major problem not just here in my country but in several corners of the globe. With so many tragic calamities happening, the problem only got worst. So what can we do,with just little resources not to mention the current struggling economy we have? We only have each other to lean on. There are several institutions creating programme to support different causes. Among of these is the World Food Programme (WFP), it is the largest humanitarian agency fighting world hunger.

I'm inviting everyone to help feed many hungry childen all around the world by just spending some time to "click". Social Vibe supports WFP among its many diferent causes. On the lower right side of this blog is an activity box under Social Vibe heading. Click on it to help feed hungry children for free. It only takes a few minutes of your time to give a meal to one of these hungry children.
Your "click" could make a difference.

Scary Stare

Streets are now beginning to get even more dirty with the election fast approaching. Ribbons, stickers and posters are everywhere, all in different sizes and colors. Faces of various politicians is an obvious sight anywhere you go. Some familiar and some really strange, not that they are ugly or something, nope it's just that some pictures are not appropraite for a campaign poster and some even hard to understand. Some just faces with very small texts others just big names of the candidate.

One that really struck me is a campaign poster of a candidate running for senate... I think.. I'm not sure... I would not mention his name, I didn't quite get the information in the poster. So you ask, "If it got my attention, why didn't I get the information a campaign poster supposed to contain?".. Well, its not that it did not contain anything, it did.. it's just that when I saw it.. I'm afraid to look at it again.Yeah.. the look in those canditate's eyes scares me... I don't know if it's just me, but really he's got this stare that seems to say "vote me or I'll eat you". I might sound a little too exaggerated to you, but really it scared me... I would not describe how he looks like here , I may end up in jail.. (hehehehe)

Who ever his campaign adviser may be, might have chosen a more friendly looking picture for that candidate... I don't know, may be that picture symbolizes something that the candidate stands for or a personal trait he wants to shaow through the picture, like being tough or strong... And boy, it was strong!

Well, if only he has the looks of Johnny Depp, I'm sure I wouldn't mind. To whoever he is, of which I'm hoping to have the courage to really look close to his poster and find out,God bless him this coming election.

The Hidden Mickey in Me

As I was on the car going to my dentist's clinic, I was thinking what color would I chose for my next elastic ligatures. Usually as I arrived at her clinic, her assistant would then hand me over a plastic storage box filled with colorful ligatures indivudually packed on a resealable cute little plastics. It's my 14th month with my braces now, once a month I'm scheduled for an adjustments. All these times I had gone through several colors of Power O (elastic liatures), as I call it. As much as possible I try not to go through colors I had before, so I attempted several ways to remember what color I have already used. First I tried to recall each month what color I had the previous month until I lost count of the color, then I tried taking pictures of my guarded teeth, but I'm having a hard time recognizing the color in the pictures (hmp!)

Here's some of my snapshots:

These are those that worked... I did not include those that looked all the same (even if they are not).

I attended an event during this time, and our group color was green & yellow, so I had it combined.

silver?

pink

bluee green?
(never mind what my teeth looks like... I need the braces remember?)

And listing?.. nope! I haven't tried that one there are so many shades of blue, red, pink, and others that its hard to narratively describe..(one of the reason I lost count of color.. :)Well anyway, so I was getting a little confused on what color will I have this time, so I said to myself "maybe I will have it brown or blue since I will be attending a wedding not many days from now, since that will be the motiff", so why not? I was kinda hoping too, that my dentist have a new shade of brown or blue since I had those colors before. When I finally arrived at the clinic the color delima suddenly flew out of my mind, when I recalled the status of my teeth... Oh no, now I'm certain I would stay quite a few minutes inside the clinic because the last time I checked I have one tube missing (which may be I accidentally swallowed, I'm really not quite sure!), so for sure my dentist have to replace it. That means I will be tasting again that sour/acidic solution used to cement something on my tooth... So after the long wait my most awaited moment has come... time to choose the ligature... just when I about to pick a shade of blue I'm not sure if I had before, my dentist then said.. "Sam, I have some new ligatures, here.." and then before me appeared the cutest little thing my eyes have ever seen... elastic ligatures with mickey mouse's ears! AS IN! In yellow, red, orange, and dark violet. I picked the dark one, I don't quite like the bright ones. Here's what it looks like on my teeth now...

it looks more like a butterfly on the picture though... :)

At the end of the day I'm just happy with my teeth and how it is progressing... How it looks before?.. You don't want to see... :) Lesson I learn? You really have no reason to be afraid of the dentist. What they will do to you will be for our own good. It may hurt but it can be fun too... besides they ae just doing their job. :)

So, thanks doc!

Logged

Hi!

Welcome to my blog. But really it is more like an external memory device for me to store life's precious moments, thoughts and experiences, because there are just things in life that we don't want to forget.

And so for me, to make sure I won't, I made use of this free-technology to be my aid. I'm not really expecting anyone to read my blog, but for those of you who just have that free time, and you don't know what else to do, you can try and check this out; maybe you can get something out of it or maybe I could get something from you.. I really don't know which one would work. Well any way, to continue my sentiments on how I should have a sort of external memory device, well yeah I badly need to. Powerful as the my brain and your brain may be, there will come a time that I and you will find it hard to recall some things. I don't even remember now the face of one of my kinder school teacher, all that I have was the memory of how her eraser smells, every time she have to erase something on my paper, and I can't even explain how it smells but the smell is running around my mind. See? Not even age can tell when we will start to hardly remember something. Maybe it's in one's genes,I strongly believe, because there are those who really have a sharp memory that even if they are advanced in age its easy for them to recall and academic-wise there are those that have that gift of memory and those that do not.Well for me though my memory is pretty strong for now, except for that teacher-face part, I won't wait for that time where I can't even remember my name. So I made this up. I know there are questions running through your mind about the stability and consistency of this technology,I have that in mind too. I may not be able to provide an answer that can assure me this will last but as far as where it can take me, this will be my external memory, to remind me not only of who I am, but of things, people and place that made me who I am.

I'm not really a creative writer but at least I know how to write.

Jars and Boxes

A matter is anything that occupies space and has mass.

Welcome to Jars and Boxes ... obviously they are matter ... they occupy space and has mass. But the definition of matter in the "particulte theory of matter" is very striking, it says that, the definition has to be revised in light of quantum mechanics, where the concept of "having mass", and "occupying space" are not as well defined as in everyday life. A more general view is that bodies are made of several substances, and the properties of matter (including mass and volume) are determined not only by the substances themselves, but by how they interact. In other words, matter is made up of interacting "building blocks",...( thanks to Wikipedia).

SO WHAT'S THE MATTER?

Our thoughts, moments and experiences on our every day life are more like matter, though not a substance themselves, they occupy space (but more of our time) they have mass, according to how we deal with them, whethere they are of value to us that we treasure them and we do not want to forget, or whethere we consider them as ordinary things that come and go. They are interacting "building blocks" of who we are and how we relate to them will determine who we are going to be.

Life is short, let's store each moments, thoughts & experiences in our own life's jars and boxes.
